Event|3.21 is International Forest Day! Screening talk event for the film ‘Great Green Wall’

10 February, 2025

登壇|3.21は国際森林デー!映画『グレート・グリーン・ウォール』上映トークイベント

21 March  is the International Day of Forests, which was resolved by the UN General Assembly. It is a day to raise awareness of forests and trees worldwide. Forest protection is important for biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, etc., but approximately 10 million hectares are lost every year. Deforestation is also responsible for about a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions due to agriculture and other land-use changes.

A screening of the documentary Great Green Wall, which follows a spectacular 8,000km tree-planting programme across Africa, will be held on Friday 21 March at the Social Venture PARK in Tenjin, Fukuoka City. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Daisuke Yosumi, United People ambassador and author/forest dweller, Kazunari Taguchi, Borderless Japan representative who is involved in a number of social ventures, and Kenji Sekine, United People representative. Please come and join us!
